Dick Soderstrom to co-chair Palm Springs Chapter

20-Dec-2011. The Palm Springs chapter is very pleased to announce that Dick Soderstrom, Seven Lakes HOA, has agreed to co-chair the 2012 meetings.

Dick is a retired physician and resides in Seven Lakes Country Club. During his medical career, he served on numerous medical committees including a four year term with the FDA's medical device panel. He has been President of four national medical societies and served as President of the Board of Directors of a Seattle HOA of 300 homeowners.

For the past eight (8) years, he has been the Chairman of the Board of Governors of Seven Lakes Country Club. With the help of committed board members, he has been able to steer their HOA through numerous challenges:

• The most significant accomplishment is the successful HOA purchase in 2009 of the native american leased land providing its members with the opportunity to obtain fee simple ownership.
• Over the past 7 years, a newly structured, reserve funding program has been developed, which is sound and secure. Except for unpredictable energy costs and/or acts of nature, special assessments for future restoration should seldom be necessary. As such, the Association has established a strong financial standing in its daily operations, moving the HOA up to a AAA credit rating with banks and vendors.
• By introducing creative programs to permit selective outside golf play, yet maintain a private golf course status, the golf activities program at Seven Lakes now boasts annual profits.

Dick hopes to help bring to the Palm Springs HOA President's Council a balanced format between common interests of HOA presidents and new actions or events that would be of importance to the HOAs of Palm Springs.
