About the Cathedral City HOA Presidents Council
In January of 2008, while reading the Desert Sun, I noted a small announcement about an upcoming meeting of the Palm Springs HOA Presidents Council. I was determined to attend their meeting.
What I witnessed at the Palm Springs meeting was an impressive exchange of information between representative HOA Boards.
And so, on July 29 of 2008, the inaugural meeting of the Cathedral City HOA Presidents Council was called to order at the Cathedral City City Hall, with a total of 8 HOAs represented. Those present showed genuine interest in having the opportunity to share concerns and ideas.
To-date, the Cathedral City group has 26 HOAs represented. Our meetings are informal, with scheduled speakers on topics of interest to the group as well as a Community Forum portion of the program to informally present and discuss particular issues brought from the individual HOAs.
At the first meeting of 2009, our representative HOAs agreed to change officers every six months so that all of our members have the opportunity to fill these roles. At present, the Moderator is Richard Pokard, from Canyon Shores, the Co-Moderator is Helen Aldrich, from Cathedral Canyon CC #17, the Recorder is Tom Tousignant, from Montage at Mission Hills, and the Treasurer is Al Hallinan from Cathedral Canyon CC #18.
The Cathedral City HOA Presidents Council meets on the 4th Thursday of each month for 11 months, with no meeting scheduled in the month of December.
